Upcoming Changes to Feedback on eBay

By: David Steiner
Sponsored Link

Feedback on eBay certainly has taken a few left turns since Pierre's initial concept that allowed trading partners to rate each other. In probably the most dramatic deviation, Sellers will no longer be allowed to leave Negative or Neutral feedback for Buyers. There are some other changes, which can be found here: http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/new.html but this is the most interesting paragraph:

What changes are being made to the eBay Feedback system?

There are five key elements to the new Feedback system being introduced in the first half of 2008:

   1. Beginning in February, buyers and sellers will be able to earn up to one Feedback per week from the same trading partner. Today, members may only affect each other's Feedback scores one time, regardless of the number of transactions between the parties. This change will both encourage repeat transactions and reward good service.
   2. Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers. This change will occur in May, 2008.
   3. Removal of negative and neutral Feedback left by members who are suspended or who fail to respond to the Unpaid Item Process (UPI).
   4. Positive Feedback percentage will be based on the past 12 months of Feedback, rather than lifetime, since it is most indicative of the seller's recent performance.
   5. Restrictions on when Feedback can be left:
          * Buyers must wait three days before leaving negative or neutral Feedback
          * Instead of 90 days, members will be able to leave Feedback for 60 days

We'll be speaking with John Donohoe later today, so if you have any specific questions, post them here before noon, and we'll try to incorporate the best ones in our interview.

Call 1-877-222-0856 and leave a 60 second message about what you think of these changes.

I have a few hundred items on sale in my Ebay store and I just recently found out that Ebay is trying to charge me approximately 6200 USD for listing features like ''featured listings'' which I never asked nor requested for. On top of that I have contacted Ebay on several occasions, but everytime they brake of the communication and just say that they can not help me. Is anyone else also have big problems with the current listing fees from Ebay. Because I am seriously considering suing Ebay on this. Is anybody else also a victim of this Ebay problem, just let me know.

F$&^ E-BAY, E-BAY IS 100% ANTI-FREEDOM OF SPEECH.  Not allowing sellers to leave open and honest feedback it the worst decision they have made, in a VERY LONG LINE of horrible decisions.  This company WILL fail, but not nearly soon enough.

When are the 2 Greed Brothers ever going to have enough ''BILLIONS'' in their pockets?? Now a Seller is ''FORCED'' by accepting their PP Logo and only option of payment.Reason so they can even make more ''BILLIONS'' for themselves. What ever happened to M/O ..Registered Letter mail with Cash ..or Personal Check payments as we knew it for the last 11 yrs. --I have sold on Fee-Bay for all those years  with it being the payment option and no one ever cheated me ! Now one gets Scammed by the Professional themselves ..claiming it is the safest way of payment...Baloney ..Best & Fastest way for them to make more ''Billions'' - Check out the

Buyer Bid and Won Auction - Starts Argument with me that he will not pay with Money Order as I requested ------
My Reason: Since I do not use or accept the ''FORCED Upon'' (PP)Fee-Pay only payment option .... So we both agreed to Have a No Sale Transaction..No money or goods where ever exchanged ..Next thing I see is a Negative Post ...Then I asked Buyer why he would do that after we had agreed between us for a None Sale !!..His comment was : PayPal had Encouraged him to leave a Neg. since I did not use (PP) only payment option..So I Requested Fee-Bay to please remove neg. since no transaction in reality ever took place ..They refused .. So I Posted this on Buyers Site:
‹(••)‹(••)›‹(••)›«N:»«:E:»«:G:»«
:A:»«:T:»«:I:»«:V:»«:E:»‹(••)›‹(••)›‹(••)›‹(••)›

and that was Removed from Buyers Post... That is what Fee-Bay calls Equal Rights for its Members ....
Have a Scam Free by the 2 Greed Bros. Day  !!!!
Thanks.

One way to get the point across on how Fee-Bay along with its Greed Bros. is run .. Start listing at Alternate Auction Sites .. OLA  www.onlineauction.com is one of the better out there in my opinion....$8. a month or $98. yearly is all one ever pays ..and one is still treaded as an equal ..Buyer or Seller alike !! One can also still choose own payment options and refuse PP or the newest ones coming on Fee-Bay soon !!''* No payment other than anything that goes through other Greed Bros. coming on  same Scam line with the two !!
Thanks.

I left FeeBay and ScamPal in the dust a long time ago after a buyer tried scamming me and they were going to issue the buyer a full refund for no legitimate reason without the buyer having to even ship the item back first. I saw the writing on the wall and immediately closed my bank account and told FeeBay and ScamPal to kiss my behind. I have since found a much better place to sell my items but will not disclose it publically because I do not need or want additional competetion. Afterall, business is business.

This came to the point when buyers would post a negative feedback without contacting the seller for any unreasonable small problem that can be fixed in 123.  We as a seller also get scammed by buyers that are trying to keep the item and receive full refund of their payment or other ways they would leave a negative feedback! After we have contacted ebay we did not see any action. Well it does not work this way! I wish someone will step in and will protect honest sellers.. eBay is loosing good market and lots of people give up because not fun as hobby! Right now most sellers have 99.1% next year it will be below 97.9% and then every one will start loosing power seller discount.

Before giving a freedom to buyer to leave a negative feedback ebay should provide some education to them that will teach the buyer not to abuse ebay system.

Yes Vitaly, we all know that if an auction stated "No Returns" or "Sold As-Is" the buyer will have to keep the item, no matter what the condition is.  Thus, leading to a negative feedback before contacting the seller.

2013 and the madness continues.

It is not rational to believe eBay is a worth business partner.

Hang it up before you too, are dragged down. There IS another job.
